Unfortunately, I'm still looking for a local recycler that will take the plastic bottle caps that I've been collecting. I'd like to come up with some sort of creative reuse project for them, but I haven't yet. Any ideas?

No brilliant ideas for crafts BUT occasionally Aveda takes them. You might ask them when/if they plan to do so again.

Yes! I recently found out that Aveda takes them.
I can't wait to see the look on the shop-girls' faces when I walk in with a giant bucket of plastic lids. I'm sure they'll think I'm a crazy lady.
